Individuals with gynecologic cancer can join Julie Larson, LCSW and peers via video or phone to talk about topics such as “PTSD and Cancer Survivorship”.
For many survivors, a cancer diagnosis can be a traumatic experience and have a long-lasting negative impact on their mental and emotional well-being well after diagnosis. Intense feelings such as “scanxiety” triggered by follow-up appointments or the overwhelm brought on by a cancer story woven into the plot of your favorite TV show are common for many survivors but might also be symptoms of PTSD. Feeling unprepared for the intensity or persistence of distressing moments can make them even more concerning. Join us on Wednesday, June 11th, to better understand what you might expect after a diagnosis and treatment and learn how sharpening self-awareness and building skills to manage your thoughts and feelings will help you care for yourself along the way. Let’s Talk About It.
