Veteran executive brings decades of leadership and nonprofit commitment to support SHARE’s mission
SHARE Cancer Support today announced the election of Christopher (Chris) Lafond to SHARE Cancer Support’s Board of Directors, following the organization’s Board meeting on March 13, 2025. Mr. Lafond has deep leadership and board experience in privately held and publicly traded companies including Insurity, Intralinks and Gartner.
Mr. Lafond remarked, “I am inspired by this opportunity to join SHARE Cancer Support’s Board of Directors and begin to apply my experience in financial operations to support the wonderful work this organization does for those at risk and in treatment for breast and gynecologic cancers. I share the organization’s dedication to serving people of all races and cultures, backgrounds, and identities.”

Mr. Lafond recently retired from his position as Chief Executive Officer at Insurity. He joined Insurity in 2017 as a Board Member before being asked to step in as Chief Financial Officer later that year. He partnered with the CEO and the private equity owners on a successful exit in September 2019. The new owners then asked Mr. Lafond to assume the CEO role upon completing their acquisition of the company, and he led their successful efforts to integrate 8 acquisitions, increase EBITDA margins from under 20% to 40%, and triple annual revenue to over $300 million. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Intralinks and before that at Gartner, where a series of progressive promotions led to his Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer role.
He has also been active in supporting nonprofit and educational organizations in areas that he deeply believes in – education, affordable housing, and healthcare. In addition to his new role at SHARE Cancer Support, Mr. Lafond serves on the advisory board for the University of Connecticut MS in FinTech. He has previously served on the advisory boards for the University of Florida MBA Program and the University of Connecticut MS in Financial Risk Management Program. Mr. Lafond has also served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County and Childcare Learning Center in Stamford, CT.
SHARE Cancer Support is a national, peer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports and educates anyone who has been diagnosed with breast or gynecologic cancer and provides critical information to the general public about signs, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options.
